Main Street Revitalisation Strategy
Through various community engagements in 2018, it was identified that there is a desire and need to revitalise both sides of Johnson Street.
Council adopted the Main Street Revitalisation Strategy at the May 2019 Ordinary Council Meeting, addressing the goals, strategies, and ideas of Council and community.
There is an emphasis on attracting travelers to stop in Bruce Rock, and subsequently draw them to both sides of Johnson Street in the main business precinct. In ensuring the 'Where Friends Become Family' theme was captured, Council has focused on creating and facilitating a family atmosphere and space for socialisation.
During 2020 Council and staff worked through the strategy and identified priority projects that could be delivered in 2020 and 2021, dependent on Council funds and available grant funding. Whilst Council's focus in 202/21 has been on a new grocery store in town, Federal Government funding to stimulate the economy post pandemic has allowed for some projects to proceed.
