The Honourable David Templeman Visits Bruce Rock
On May 7th 2019 the Shire of Bruce Rock was honoured to receive a visit from The Honourable David Templeman, Minister for Local Government; Heritage; Culture and the Arts.
The Minister was taken on a tour of the Bruce Rock townsite. Highlights of the tour were our first class recreation, aged care, health and emergency services facilities. He was particularly impressed with the presentation of our town.
During the visit, the Minister spent time with Council, council staff, and local business and community leaders.
Some promising discussions were held with the Minister and his staff around the topics of the Local Government Act review, regional business development, Councillor training, aged care services, community development and potential project funding avenues.
Minister Templeman enjoyed his time with us and identified what makes us unique. He said:
“What a fantastic example of community and cooperation in local government! Bruce Rock has a real can-do attitude and it was a pleasure to meet councillors, staff and community members.”
