Bruce's Rock

Bruce's Rock is situated 2km from the town in a nature reserve on the Bruce Rock East Road. The rock was named after a sandalwooder, John Rufus Bruce, who used the outcrop as his depot in 1869. There are two old wells located at the picnic site at the foot of the rock, and good walks are to be enjoyed over the rock outcrop. The last Aboriginal Corroboree in this district is said to have been held at this site. Barbecue and picnic facilities are available at the base of the outcrop.
